I’ve been developing two one-woman shows as writer-actor since 2014 when Times (freelance) critic and festival curator Donald Hutera invited me to write and perform for Chelsea Arts Collective. I’ve since performed my work at Arts at The Old Fire Station in Oxford, Winchester Discovery Centre, Willesden Library Performance Space, Battersea Arts Centre, and the Lion & Unicorn pub theatre Kentish Town. I’m thrilled to explore a new dimension to my creativity through acting -and can reveal that the novice actor me has a lot to say to writer me :).

I started writing in 1996 with a half hour script about London Bohemians which had a rehearsed reading at Off the Grove, a launchpad at the time for new writing. This led to Soho Theatre offering me a first stage workshop with Paul Sirett, and that was the encouragement I needed to get going. My play Brandy Sour was shortlisted for the Verity Bargate Award and in 2001 I was invited to attend the one year Soho Theatre Writers’ Attachment scheme, and commissioned to write another play. My plays have been showcased at the Cochrane Theatre and Soho Theatre.
