Most recently I’ve been writing books for Psychologies Magazine (published by Capstone-Wiley). This has been enormously rewarding, taking my journalism into a far more in-depth direction. The question I’m most commonly asked is whether it’s daunting having to write a whole book. The great thing about journalism is that it’s sound training for longer projects. You lose the fear of words and see 40,000 words as 40 features.

Scroll down to see a small selection of recent magazine work and old favourites. What I’ve loved about my long rewarding career in journalism is the variety: tabloids and broadsheets, mass market and glossy titles, women’s and men’s magazines, specialist and niche. From the Daily Mail and the Daily Express to the Evening Standard and the Independent, from Cosmopolitan and Company to Sunday Times Style and the Financial Times How to Spend It magazines, from Here’s Health and What Diet & Lifestyle (and far too many more to list) I’ve been able to explore my interests. I’ve written about everything that comes under the umbrella of lifestyle which is pretty much anything connected to how we live including wellbeing and psychology, food and travel, interiors and fashion.

For student journalists and aspiring writers my advice is to be open minded. I believe that as ethical writers if we infiltrate all media that is how we change the world.
