FAMAGUSTIAN

I was born in London, and grew up in Essex, Famagusta, Athens and London suburbia. Famagusta is my family’s town in Cyprus, and where my parents settled in 1970 after my father completed his studies and training in England. Since the tragic invasion of Cyprus in 1974, the part of the town where we lived has been sealed off and is accessible only to Turkish military. The experience of living through war and being displaced is at the core of my own writing.
